The Nurture Group provide commercial landscaping, garden and grounds maintenance, pest control, tree care, and plant display services. Their clients are predominantly commercial, including a number of high-profile corporates.
The business has grown substantially over the last six years, trebling its revenue through the acquisition of several companies.
The challenge: elevating data processing and cyber security
Through continued growth and expansion, along with the integration of a high volume of staff into The Nurture Group, it was recognised that data processing needed to be a higher priority.
The appointment of a Chief Information Officer drove the decision to obtain the highest levels of cyber security accreditation – something many of their clients were looking for across their supply chain.
Strategic cyber security support: gap analysis, training, Cyber Essentials certification and vCISO services
We started with a full gap analysis to support the client in improving procedures and plugging any gaps. We then created a roadmap to identify immediate actions and plan for the longer term.
The successful implementation of these actions led to achieving Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, and IASME accreditations, in addition to working towards ISO 27001.
We helped raise awareness of the importance of maintaining data integrity, along with data protection and security. This was mainly achieved through a series of fun and interactive training sessions. We enhanced this by identifying individuals who would benefit from additional skills, following phishing simulations.
“We appointed RightCue because we didn’t have a need for a full-time CISO but needed that level of expertise on a virtual level. Whilst achieving various cyber security accreditations was a key driver, we have got so much more from working with the team.”
“Through delivering fun and innovative training, all of our staff understand the importance of protecting data. We run regular phishing tests, and RightCue reports back on results and identifies any gaps to plug.”
Eoin O’Connell
Chief Information Officer, The Nurture Group
The client has appointed us as a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Data Protection Officer. In this role, we participate in business continuity testing – identifying any actions that need to be taken and holding the business to account. We also attend board meetings and report on ongoing data protection matters.
By offering this ongoing support, we help the business ensure they continue to be compliant with the latest cyber security protocols. This has been instrumental in winning and maintaining client trust and confidence.
Embedding data security as a seamless boardroom priority
Data protection is now high on the agenda in the boardroom. The C-suite speaks very positively about the contribution RightCue has made and the pragmatic approach we have encouraged them to adopt for data security.
Ultimately, it is about not being noticed – that’s the secret to successful cyber security. As the client stated: “It’s like water or electricity – you don’t notice it until it isn’t working!”
“They are alongside us when we run business continuity simulations and again identify any areas to develop. Yogesh meets us regularly to report back on various aspects of data and information – giving us a clear roadmap.
“IT security is so much higher on the agenda now, and the board values the pragmatic, practical, and level-headed approach RightCue has brought. There is no doubt that I sleep better at night knowing the RightCue team are by my side!” Eoin O’Connell, Chief Information Officer, The Nurture Group.
