Paul said: “I joined RightCue from Sony, which is obviously a giant in the industry. While I enjoyed my time there, I really liked the fact I could be a bigger cog in the RightCue machine.

“The fact it was a smaller company meant I had much more variety in what I did each day, and more responsibility too. I found our clients – many of whom didn’t have their own dedicated cyber security staff – really valued what we did. That’s a great feeling.”

Healthy work culture and business growth

“I was really impressed with how RightCue operates. Some companies don’t have the policies and infrastructure in place to expand smoothly. RightCue is surprisingly mature. I could see it had a really solid foundation to grow from, that’s another reason I was really happy to join the team.

“Finally, I liked RightCue’s approach to work life balance. They’ve not mandated time in the office, they trust staff to decide how, when and where they work best. I was much more comfortable working from home, and I planned my days so I could do the school-runs and still get everything delivered for clients, which made a huge difference to family life.”

Career development

Paul started his career working on an IT service desk before joining global IT firm Dimension Data as a security engineer. He then moved to Sony and led its global architecture team and several cloud-based projects.

At RightCue, Paul carried out risk assessments including through supply chains, as well as security audits and governance checks for clients. Whilst working at RightCue, Paul increased his experience supporting clients with information security standard ISO 27001 audits and subsequent actions.
